Students of Far Eastern University (FEU) were encouraged to recognize their potential and create meaningful impact during a session on “Empowered for Greatness: Unlocked Resources, Unleashed Impact” with Broderick Santos, Vice President and Business Development Unit Head of EastWest Banking Corporation.

“What really stayed with me was the idea that you don’t need to wait until you have everything figured out,” said one student. “You can already start creating opportunities based on what you currently have, and that mindset makes a big difference.”

“The session made me realize that impact is not always about big achievements,” said another student. “It’s about being intentional and making the most out of your resources, which is something I can already apply even as a student.”

“Empowerment is not about waiting for opportunities, it’s about creating them from what you already have,” Santos emphasized. “Even limited resources can lead to meaningful impact when you learn how to use them strategically and consistently.”

Santos highlighted that empowerment begins with recognizing one’s strengths and making deliberate choices that align with long-term goals.

Through engaging discussions and reflective exercises, the students were guided to assess their own capabilities and explore how they can maximize their resources, whether in skills, networks, or experiences to achieve their goals. The session fostered an environment where participants could connect ideas with real-life applications, making the learning experience both practical and relevant.

This session reflects FEU’s continued effort to connect students with industry leaders who offer grounded, experience-based insights. In collaboration with EastWest, initiatives like the PEP Talk Series strengthen the university’s approach to career readiness, equipping students not only with knowledge, but with the mindset and strategic awareness needed to take initiative, adapt to opportunities, and create impact in an evolving professional landscape.

Organized by the FEU Career Development and Placement Office, in partnership with the FEU Central Student Organization, the session gathered students for an afternoon of reflection, learning, and purposeful engagement centered on personal and professional empowerment.

As students prepare to transition from academic life to professional careers, the discussion emphasized the importance of self-awareness, initiative, and strategic thinking in navigating opportunities and challenges.

The PEP Talk Series was held at the University Conference Center.
