The selection of Far Eastern University (FEU) student leaders to prestigious national leadership programs highlights the University’s commitment to developing servant leaders dedicated to meaningful social impact.

Among this year’s awardees is Ronald Gabriel Teng, a third-year BS Microbiology student, who was selected as one of only 31 delegates to the Ayala Young Leaders’ Congress (AYLC) from nearly 2,000 applicants nationwide. As part of his leadership advocacy, Teng proposed a project focused on upcycling plastic waste into functional products for community extension programs. Through the initiative, he aims to transform a shared vision of sustainability into concrete, community-driven action.

“For me, the circular economy is my values COM in action. This means Communicate the need, Organize like nature, and Manage with Tamaraw stewardship,” said Teng.

Meanwhile, Raezon Gonzales, president of the FEU Central Student Organization, earned a place in the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines Business Leadership Program (AmCham BLP) after navigating several rigorous screening rounds. Gonzales anchors his leadership approach on inclusive governance and collaboration.

“Based on my lived experiences as a student and citizen, leadership is ultimately about creating meaningful change and serving something bigger than yourself,” he said.

The University has a longstanding tradition of producing exemplary student leaders recognized by these prestigious national leadership programs. Since 1998, FEU has consistently been represented in the AYLC, while its participation in the AmCham BLP dates back to 2002.

Reinforcing this legacy, Jhonalyn Concha, Director of the Office of Student Involvement (OSI), underscored the FEU’s dedication to leadership development.

“At OSI, we enable students not just to lead, but to serve with purpose, act with integrity, and inspire change that extends beyond our campus,” said Concha.

Through opportunities that cultivate service, integrity, and social responsibility, the University continues to empower student leaders to create positive change both within and beyond FEU.
