Among the 20 interns from the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (ITHM) who completed their international internship at CÉ LA VI Singapore, a globally recognized dining and lifestyle destination, Mary Anessa Salas (BS Hospitality and Restaurant Management) achieved a notable milestone. Following her internship, she transitioned into full-time employment as a commis or junior chef at CÉ LA VI.

Salas’ progression from intern to employee reflects her strong performance, dedication, and commitment throughout her training period.

During their training, the students—including Salas—were immersed in the fast-paced environment of the hospitality industry. Throughout their deployment, they were assigned to various operational departments, allowing them to gain practical exposure to daily restaurants and hospitality operations. Working alongside international professionals, they learned to adapt to multicultural teams while maintaining the level of excellence expected in a globally competitive establishment.

Beyond technical skills, the experience strengthened their professionalism, time management, and ability to perform under pressure. The demanding environment challenged them to demonstrate resilience, initiative, and consistency—qualities essential in the international tourism and hospitality industry.

Their completion of the internship program highlights ITHM’s continued efforts to provide students with meaningful global exposure. By participating in international training opportunities, students gain not only technical competence but also the confidence and adaptability required to thrive beyond local industry settings.

For ITHM, the achievement of the 20 students and the employment of one of their own affirm the institute’s mission of preparing graduates who are ready to meet the standards of the global hospitality landscape. Their experience in Singapore stands as a testament to the capability of FEU tourism and hospitality students to compete and succeed on the international stage.
