To strengthen the strategic role of human resources in organizations, the FEU Academy, in partnership with the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP), conducted their Certificate in Human Resource Planning and Acquisition (CHRPA) from Aug. 2 to Sept. 20 at FEU Makati.
Led by Lydia Lily G. Quintans, president of PMAP and managing director of Lead Interventions for Teams, Inc., the program aimed to help participants understand the value of manpower planning as a strategic business tool and to view recruitment as more than just hiring people, but as a deliberate process aligned with organizational goals.
Through a combination of lectures, case studies, and group workshops, the CHRPA course provided participants with frameworks and techniques in workforce planning, organizational design, recruitment, selection, and integration. The training sought to develop HR professionals’ capability to design efficient recruitment systems, make data-driven decisions, and integrate talent strategies into long-term business objectives.
Participants said Quintans skillfully bridged theoretical concepts with practical HR applications. They highlighted the interactive discussions, relevant case studies, and group activities that fostered deeper understanding and collaboration. The mix of conceptual and experiential learning made the sessions dynamic and meaningful, they said.
“Through CHRPA, I gained a clearer perspective on how HR planning directly supports business strategy,” said one participant. “The sessions on sourcing, interviewing, and workforce planning were especially valuable because they taught us how to design more efficient and data-driven recruitment systems.”
To sustain and expand CHRPA, FEU Academy and PMAP may consider incorporating more case-based exercises and enhanced learning materials in future iterations.
