"My journey as a scholar is [full of] hope. It is because this scholarship [gives] me hope to continue my studies and achieve my dreams. It [is] proof that people believe in my abilities and that my efforts [are] not wasted," said Sherwin Oliva.
For Oliva, a technical-vocational (tech-voc) scholar, the grant from the FEU Alumni Scholarship and Financial Aid Program not only gives him the opportunity to focus on achieving his dreams by studying, but also helps him save: “My family is also very grateful for this [because] they can now save money for other needs.”
Others agreed with Oliva that the tech-voc scholarship gives them a reason to be hopeful.
“This scholarship gives hope to those who dream but can’t afford an education. It reminds me to keep going—because in every challenge, God sends His angels. Just as the orphanage once helped us when we had nothing, the [FEU Alumni Scholarship and Financial Aid Program] is another angel lifting us up and guiding us toward a brighter future,” said Yvonne Udani.
“[The] scholarship has given me hope for a brighter future, hope that I can repay my parents for all the things that they do to me, and hope that I can achieve my dreams despite the challenges, and [I’m] grateful for the opportunity to be one of the chosen to be a scholar of [the FEU Alumni Scholarship and Financial Aid Program],” said Lorriene Janneth Capillo.
“It’s a privilege to be recognized among many deserving students, and I’m thankful for the trust placed in me,” said scholar Gilbert Balintong.
Windille Buslon, another scholar, said the grant lessens his expenses. He is able to focus on his goals and health, he added.

The FEU Alumni Relations Office (ARO) recently completed the series of visits to tech-voc schools for the signing of new memoranda of agreement, in collaboration with the FEU Alumni Scholarship and Financial Aid Program.
The program is on its third year, continuously offering and providing scholarship opportunities to 25 students pursuing tech-voc education.
The ARO provides employable skills for students who want to pursue learning in tech-voc. Glenn Concepcion, section head, said ARO grants scholarships to those who are willing to study but in financial constraints, or those who want to cultivate their tech-voc skills.

One of the school partners, DualTech Training Center Foundation, emphasizes the significance of this partnership in easing the deserving students’ financial burden by providing them quality tech-voc education. Marc Jeffrey Precones, DualTech’s scholarship officer, said this program encourages students to practice discipline, dedication, and be effective learners.

Anihan Technical School Recruitment and Education Assistance Coordinator, Marizel Zarraga, said this is a valuable support to more young people, especially from low-income families. This also gives them quality training that leads to their employment and a strong impact in the community, she said. Zaragga added that this shows support beyond academics and highlights the students’ sense of purpose and readiness to securing jobs.
“Since the scholarship started, we’ve seen students become more confident, focused, and committed to finishing their training. Families are more engaged, and the community sees the value of education more clearly,” said Zaragga.
