The FEU Academy, in partnership with People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP), concluded their Certificate in Compensation Management (CCM) program held at FEU Makati from May 24 to July 19, led by Antonio “Bobby” Marquez Jr., PMAP consultant and Certified Total Rewards Professional.

Designed to equip HR professionals with a comprehensive understanding of compensation systems and benefits administration, the CCM course emphasized the strategic role of fair and structured pay in attracting and retaining top talent. The sessions guided participants through job evaluation methods, market data analysis, and salary structure design—core competencies vital to strengthening organizational reward systems.

Participants commended Marquez’s expertise, clarity, and engaging teaching style, highlighting his ability to simplify complex compensation concepts. They particularly valued the real-world examples, templates, and frameworks that could be immediately applied in their respective organizations.

Among the key takeaways reported were a deeper understanding of compensation and benefits frameworks, salary structures and job evaluation methods, and the use of market surveys such as the WTW Salary Survey. Participants also noted improved awareness of regulatory standards, pay equity, and the integration of compensation strategies with overall business goals.

“This program reshaped the way I look at compensation systems. I now understand how structured pay, backed by data and evaluation tools, can drive both employee satisfaction and organizational growth,” said one participant.

In his observation report, Carlos Fedelino Valencia Jr., VP for Human Resources at Far Eastern University, noted that Marquez demonstrated mastery and passion in teaching, encouraging critical thinking and open exchange of workplace experiences among participants. The assessor also cited the trainer’s ability to balance theoretical grounding with practical application, reinforcing the participants’ confidence in managing compensation and benefits programs in their organizations.

The collaboration between FEU Academy and PMAP continues to support the professionalization of the HR field through evidence-based, practice-oriented learning. By fostering an understanding of compensation as both a strategic and ethical management concern, FEU Academy strengthens its commitment to developing HR leaders who value fairness, growth, and organizational sustainability.
