Achieving a graduate degree at Far Eastern University (FEU) demands dedication and persistence, from late nights of coursework to the challenges of completing a research. On July 19, 2025, graduates and their loved ones gathered at the FEU Auditorium to mark the culmination of these efforts in the annual Hooding Ceremony.

Organized by the Office of Graduate Studies and attended by FEU administrators and academic managers, the event not only recognized the students’ academic accomplishments but also celebrated their quiet sacrifices and indomitable spirit that carried them through the challenges of graduate school. With pride and jubilation, graduates took center stage alongside their thesis and capstone advisers, as well as family members, for the hooding rite.
This year’s graduates from the fields of business, communication, psychology, education, and nursing are ready to make a meaningful impact in their professions and communities. As guest speaker, Dr. Jimmy G. Catanes, PhD, CESE, Director IV of the Commission of Higher Education National Capital Region, reminded them, “Tandaan, sa likod ng bawat tagumpay ay ang bayan, pamilya, at kasaysayan na nagsisilbing gabay upang ikaw ay maging ilaw at magbigay liwanag at pag-asa sa iba.”
Dr. Catanes emphasized that an advanced degree carries not only privileges, but also the responsibility to contribute to community development and nation-building, helping shape a better sense of shared history among Filipinos and a better future for all.
As the ceremony drew to a close, Dr. Catanes expressed gratitude and hope: “One of the known universities in the country, an autonomous university, maraming, maraming salamat po, for producing quality graduates, whom we need during this period of time.”
At the hooding ceremony, the graduates witnessed how a once seemingly impossible undertaking turned into a tangible accomplishment they could call their own, a proud moment worth sharing with the ones dear to them.
