The Far Eastern University Institute of Health Sciences and Nursing (FEU IHSN) sees the appointment of Dr. Maria Rosario Singh, or Dr. Rosette as she prefers to be addressed, as its newest consultant to strengthen their specializations, clinical programs, and health education.

Dr. Rosette is widely known as the Department of Health (DOH) undersecretary from July 2022 to June 2023 under President Ferdinand Marcos Jr,’s administration. She also played a significant role at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic as DOH spokesperson, delivering reliable health and safety updates.

Associate Dean of IHSN Luis Dominick Antig describes her as a valuable partner in developing programs and initiatives that will benefit the students and the entirety of FEU, with her deep understanding to healthcare and vast experience in the public health sector.

“This partnership enables us to design more responsive, evidence-based approaches to health sciences education which directly address current challenges and emerging needs in the field. Ultimately, this gives our students richer learning experiences and better prepares them to thrive and excel in their respective professions,” said Antig.

Dr. Rosette’s guidance in the integration of micro-credentialing courses in IHSN’s degree programs and her strong advocacy for universal healthcare are envisioned to be embedded in the curricula for graduates to have a competitive edge in their employability and their preparedness in contributing effective health services in the communities.

“Her calm demeanor, openness to new ideas, and collaborative spirit have given us confidence that this partnership will lead to impactful and sustainable outcomes,” said Antig.
