The Far Eastern University Alumni Relations Office (FEU ARO) conducted a turnover ceremony for the newest batch of Tamaraw scholars.

This event featured the awarding of certificates from Alumni-Named Scholarships: two scholars from The Lourdes Gutierrez-Alfonso Scholarship, two scholars from Lydia A. Palaypay Endowment, and two from the Vi Group of Companies Scholarship.

The grantees were also welcomed with a short kumustahan. One of the attendees and a Lydia Arao Palaypay Endowment scholar, Catherine Basilio, described the getting-to-know activity as engaging.

“I met a group of academically smart, talented, and fun people. I even remembered everyone’s names right after the introductions, which shows how engaging it was. We also shared personal experiences, like being breadwinners, handling multiple responsibilities, or taking leadership roles, which made the activity feel meaningful and memorable,” she said.

Through the continuous support of ARO and partner communities, learners Basilio get to have peace of mind from the financial burdens and gives them more time to focus on their studies. According to her, she is honored and grateful to be chosen.

Basilio said her scholarship experience so far is “deserving.”

“Deserving. I know I worked hard, didn’t miss a single day, and gave my best effort both before and after receiving the scholarship. It’s a reminder that dedication and perseverance truly pay off,” she said.
