Far Eastern University (FEU)’s three-day TAMSConnect 2025 brought together scholars, industry partners, employers, and alumni in an event designed to celebrate academic achievement, strengthen institutional partnerships, and open new career opportunities for FEU students.

Held last Nov. 19 to 21, the event combined the Crossroads to Success Exhibit, Grantors and Scholars Recognition Ceremony, and FEU Mini Career Fair, marking one of the university’s most comprehensive student development initiatives to date.

The TAMSConnect served as both a celebration and a launchpad. It highlighted FEU scholars’ achievements while enabling students and alumni to connect with leading companies directly. Organized by the Career and Development Office, Career Development and Placement Office, Admission and Financial Assistance Office, the event reinforced FEU’s commitment to employability, industry linkage, and student empowerment.

The three-day event was formally opened through a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by former Dean Lydia A. Palaypay (DLP Endowment) and Ar. Kaydee Velasco of the FEU Alumni Association, symbolizing the strong partnership between FEU and its external grantors.

One of the core components of TAMSConnect, the Crossroads to Success Exhibit, spotlighted scholar stories alongside the CSR and innovation initiatives of partner organizations. Grantors were acknowledged for their continued support to the scholars through the awarding of plaques and certificates.

Featured scholars included: Lydia A. Palaypay Endowment, Jezelle Ann Tipon-tipon; Vi Group of Companies, Elgar James L. Caharian; FEU AA Scholarship, Renmel M. Andal; Security Bank Foundation, Hans Jefferson Paglinawan; Shearwater Health Advisors, Inc., Chloe Faye C. Cruz and Pamela Sanchez; CONEXUS Medstaff, John Rey P. Medina; CDO Odyssey Foundation, Beatrize Dino; SM Foundation, Inc., Kenneth Adrian S. Alabado; LSEG, Carla Shanylle G. Guansing; Ramon S. Ang Foundation, Nathaniel M. Sabater; Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation, Franzes Loreine A. Gutierrez; CHED-TES, Aljames T. Mulles; and Megaworld Foundation, Ziarazer Mariano.

These scholars’ stories underscored how academic excellence, resilience, and institutional support converge to create transformative student journeys.

The FEU Mini Career Fair, held last Nov. 19 at the FEU Plaza, gathered top employers seeking FEU talent. Open to graduating students, job-seeking alumni, and undergraduates exploring internships, the fair offered diverse opportunities across banking, healthcare, real estate, tech, and corporate sectors. The participating companies were: BDO Unibank, China Banking Corporation, Security Bank Corporation, HSBC, Maxicare, Makati Medical Center, Cardinal Santos Medical Center, Megaworld Corporation, Moongig, Ortigas Land Corporation, Century Pacific Food, Haier Electrical Appliances, Enshored, Light Rail Manila Corporation, CDO Odyssey Foundation, and FEU HR, among others.

Students appreciated the accessibility and breadth of opportunities.

“It felt empowering to speak directly with recruiters. The fair made me realize that companies genuinely value FEU graduates,” said one student. A senior student added, “The career fair helped me understand what employers expect and how I can better prepare for job applications.”

“It made the future feel less intimidating,” said another student.

Bringing together scholar recognition, industry showcases, and employability initiatives, TAMSConnect demonstrates FEU’s holistic approach to student success. The event addressed pressing needs in workforce readiness by strengthening linkages between employers and FEU talent, celebrating scholar achievements to inspire future student leaders, amplifying partner companies’ CSR and innovation work, and reinforcing their role in student development. This collective effort reflects FEU’s mission to prepare Tamaraws for meaningful careers while nurturing a culture of excellence and collaboration.

The university expressed its gratitude to grantors, employers, alumni, scholars, and students whose presence made the event meaningful. Their participation ensured that TAMSConnect was not just an exhibit or a job fair, but a thriving space where stories, opportunities, and aspirations converged. Scholar and speaker Ziarazer Mariano, BA Communication magna cum laude, Batch 2024, inspired attendees by sharing how scholarship support shaped her academic path and professional development.
