Far Eastern University (FEU) became a vibrant map of the Philippines with its “Lakbay-Piyu”-themed TamHunt 2025 last Sept. 8 to 10. Organized by FEU Central Student Organization (FEUCSO) under the guidance of the Office of Student Involvement (OSI), the event celebrated the diverse culture instilled within the Tamaraw community.

Campus transformed
TamHunt turned campus grounds into an interactive space where student-led organizations were given the opportunity to showcase their identity, purpose, and goals as an organization in shaping the lives of other people. In connection with the theme, FEUCSO acted as the central “airport” or main organizer of the event. The institute councils represented different cities, bringing with them unique perspectives and viewpoints in life. Then the academic and university-wide organizations were the cultural heritage of various regions that reflect local pride, culture, and traditions. The event highlighted sustainability, which encourages eco-friendly practices and waste reduction for a greener campus. FEU Makati also joined the event during a special activity period last Sept. 9, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity among all students.

Resilience, creativity through time
The event started with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony that marked the official start of festivities. Many students performed on stage, filling the atmosphere with energy and excitement. Although Day 1 brought unexpected rain, student organizations quickly adapted, keeping their booths vibrant and welcoming, showcasing their creativity and resilience. On Day 2, booths continued to draw crowds as students flocked to different organizations as they grew curious and enthusiastic to know where they belonged. Tam Rally was also featured in the afternoon that kept spirits high despite the rain. On Day 3, the booths remained bustling with activity that resulted in meaningful interactions, with students eagerly engaging in conversations and exploring various displays.
Awards: Celebrating excellence
The event culminated with the highly anticipated awarding of Lakbay Piyu Expo, where 18 awards were presented to outstanding student organizations. The categories included Tamaraw’s Choice Award for Poster and Video Teaser, Wittiest Hashtag, Best Interactive Activities, Best Concept Design, Best Video Teaser, and Best Poster.
The judges were: Joseph Ryann Jalagat, Office of the Student Discipline; Celmer John Santos, Alumni Relations; Mark Lancer Santos, Center for Teaching and Learning; Jerome Requidan, National Service Training Program; and Vannesa Grace Cabiedes, Career Development and Placement Office.

The FEU English Language Circle won Best Interactive Activities. They had chosen Palawan as their place of origin for its beauty. Their interactive booth drew inspiration from the money exchange, Palawan Express Pera Padala (PEPP). As PEPP is about exchange and connection, their booth highlighted language as a medium that links people, communities, and cultures.
Meanwhile, the FEU Organization of Junior Finance Executives won Best Booth Concept with "Ginto at Galing Iyong Tuklasin," integrating symbolic elements that tied together Cebu's cultural heritage and its relationship to finance.

The FEU Nursing Society won Tamaraw’s Choice for Best Poster, Judge’s Choice for Best Poster, and Wittiest Hashtag. The student organization was inspired by Ilocos Norte's cultural and political significance, turning its famous landmarks into their own artwork. They used #SolidNURth as political commentary. When the awards were announced, the organization shared that they felt overjoyed, especially considering this marked FEU Nursing Society’s fourth consecutive year of winning, becoming one of the most awarded organizations during TamHunt. Looking forward
Tamhunt 2025 closed on a high note, highlighting FEU students’ talent, innovation, and sense of purpose. More than a celebration, it inspired creativity, sustainability, and collaboration, proving the strength of student engagement and advocacy in shaping a better tomorrow.
