The Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (ITHM)’s TamBlitz 2025: “SEA-novation: Making Waves with Sustainable Entrepreneurship” brought together creativity, sustainability, and entrepreneurial spirit as students from THC1109 unveiled 32 innovative fish-based products developed in partnership with Sinaya Seafood, a social enterprise known for ethically sourced and naturally processed seafood products.
Held last Nov. 14 at the SB Walkway and ARH Building, the event served as a major platform for students to present product innovations, apply entrepreneurship principles, and introduce sustainable business ideas that support real fishing communities.
The exhibit featured a diverse range of value-added innovations from seafood-based snacks and sauces to eco-friendly fertilizers made from fish bones, reflecting the students’ commitment to responsible sourcing and environmental stewardship. Pitch deck presentations were held in ARH Rooms 401 to 403 and 501 to 503, followed by an awarding ceremony at the ITHM Events Hall.
This year’s TamBlitz was supported by Mogu Mogu, Capture Candid, Splash Island, Zhandhat’s Food Express, Noe’s Brooch, and El Marfin and Pavilion. The event was headed by Kawing Productions under the guidance of Mae Jhay Cal, Anthony Jordan Abas, and Overall Head Christian Jake Orquita.
Among the major recognitions were: Entrepreneurship Excellence Award = Kagat Co., champion; Isla Dips, 1st runner-up; Inky Bites, 2nd runner-up; Sea Soil, 3rd runner-up.
Other winners included People’s Award, Crabbylicious 1; Most Innovative, Aplaya; Most Sustainable Product, Fly Catch Rolls; Best Booth, Isla Dips; Best Lean Business Model Canvas, Kagat Co.; and Best Uniform, Fly Catch Rolls.
The event also offered students a transformative experiential learning opportunity, combining creativity, collaboration, and hands-on entrepreneurship.
“TamBlitz pushed us to think beyond traditional products. We had to innovate with purpose, knowing our creations needed to be sustainable and market-ready. It was challenging but seeing our ideas come to life made the whole experience incredibly rewarding,” said an ITHM student.
Participants in TamBlitz 2025 demonstrated how they can champion sustainability while developing real-world entrepreneurial skills.
The event continues to serve as a defining platform for future industry professionals to create meaningful, responsible, and innovative business solutions.
