The Far Eastern University Institute of Education (FEU IE) paid tribute to its March 2025 Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers passers through a testimonial dinner last Sept. 12. Percella Mae Conag, Bachelor of Special Needs Education alumna, was also recognized for bringing honor to FEU by securing 5th place in the boards.

“It feels surreal. Even now, months after the release of the results… I’m still in disbelief over what I’ve accomplished,” said Conag. “It feels unreal to be recognized and celebrated by [FEU IE], but I’m most grateful to have brought honor to [the institute] and all the ‘TamEdukistas’.”

Conag recalled being in her freshman year, unsure of her program and uncertain about teaching as a career. However, through FEU IE, she met learning facilitators and classmates who shared her love for teaching and inspired her to thrive and persevere.

“To all aspiring teachers: persevere and believe in yourself. It may sound clichéd, but I’ve found that perseverance and confidence are powerful fuel on the days when I doubt myself and question whether I’ll become a great teacher,” she said. “Teaching is a very challenging profession, but keep pushing forward, and trust that you are capable of nurturing young minds and making a lasting impact.”

Conag was also presented with a cash award, symbolizing IE’s recognition not only of her outstanding academic achievement but also of her commitment to serve as an exemplar of excellence and compassion.

The evening gathered alumni, teachers, department chairs, support staff, and the academic managers of IE.
