Far Eastern University (FEU)’s Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (ITHM) was named “Institutional Leader in the Internship/Trainee Program” by Zip Travel Philippines/Inner Outer Travel Inc., a globally known institution in international education and exchange programs.
“This recognition affirms ITHM’s outstanding leadership, long-standing support, and strong commitment to advancing global internship and trainee programs. More than a certificate or a title, the award reflects ITHM’s consistent efforts to provide meaningful, structured, and transformative learning experiences for students through international internship, trainee, and work and travel programs,” said Dr. Harold Bueno, dean of ITHM.
Bueno said they celebrating their “exceptional ITHM students who have consistently demonstrated excellence, professionalism, and the true spirit of Filipino hospitality across various international host establishments.”
“Their achievements abroad are a testament to their hard work and to the quality of education and training they receive at FEU,” he said. “At FEU-ITHM, we believe that work and travel is more than just internship credit—it’s about exchanging cultural ideas, gaining global perspectives, and fostering a deeper understanding of the world. These international programs prepare our students to be globally competitive professionals, while also enriching their personal growth, confidence, and sense of purpose.”
The ITHM dean said the milestone is also made possible through the tireless efforts of the ITHM Internship Team. He said their dedication to managing international placements, guiding students pre- and post- departure, and building long-term partnerships has not only contributed to student success but also positioned ITHM as a mentor institution for other higher education providers seeking to strengthen their own global internship frameworks.
“By partnering with respected global organizations, ITHM continues to provide students with access to Work and Travel USA, International Traineeship Programs, and Global Internship Pathways—initiatives that do not just open doors to career opportunities but instill lifelong values and a mindset of global citizenship,” said Bueno.
He added that this recognition from Zip Travel Philippines last July 25 at Okada Manila in Pasay reaffirms ITHM’s role in shaping future-ready professionals—those who are equipped not only with industry competencies but also with cultural intelligence, ethical leadership, and a deep pride in their identity as Filipinos.
