Cybersecurity awareness toward secure digital culture

FEU non-teaching employees participated in the CyberSmart: Building a Secure Culture at FEU seminar last October 8 at the FEUture Center Auditorium.
In celebration of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, Far Eastern University (FEU) hosted a seminar aimed at empowering its non-teaching employees with the knowledge and skills necessary to protect the university’s digital environment.
Organized by the Human Resource Division in coordination with the Information Technology Services and the Compliance Office, “CyberSmart: Building a Secure Culture at FEU” last Oct. 8 at the FEUture Center Auditorium.
The event was conducted in two batches to accommodate participants. The seminar featured speakers from PwC Philippines, including Maria Rosell S. Gomez, partner and risk services leader, and Eugene Jerome Tan, risk services director and cybersecurity specialist. They showed their expertise on how to recognize, prevent, and effectively respond to cybersecurity threats impacting both personal and institutional data security.

FEU Vice President for Human Resources Carlos Fedelino M. Valencia highlights that cybersecurity is a shared culture built collectively by the FEU community.
During his opening remarks, Carlos Fedelino M. Valencia, Vice President for Human Resources, emphasized that in the age of information, cybersecurity is not just a task for the IT team; rather, it is a shared culture at FEU that everyone builds together. This call to collective responsibility set the tone for the seminar and reinforced FEU’s commitment to a secure digital environment.
The closing remarks were delivered by Jan Ray P. Roque, chief audit executive, and Atty. Orlino Enrique Hosaka, compliance and corporate lawyer.

FEU non-teaching employees gained essential skills to foster cybersecurity awareness and safeguard the university’s digital assets.
